Placemaking with Young Adults 2.0 (PYA2) is an interdisciplinary research project led by ImaginationLancaster in partnership with Lancaster City Council. The project explores how young adults can actively contribute to urban planning and policymaking through participatory placemaking, ensuring that their perspectives inform the future development of Lancaster District. Building on the success of the original project, PYA2 extends this work through collaborative workshops, creative engagement, and policy co-design.
I directed and edited a short documentary about the project, documenting its activities and communicating its aims and outcomes to academic, policy and public audiences.
The film captures the collaborative nature of the research and supports the project's public engagement and dissemination activities. It demonstrates how documentary filmmaking can be used as an accessible way to communicate research and encourage wider engagement with participatory projects.
