Two middle-aged, middle managers dreaming of teenage glories plot to escape their humdrum lives for a day.

SLOTS (2021) - Trailer

Chris and Peter - two middle-aged, middle managers - share a daily motorway commute through Lancashire to their humdrum office jobs. But when Peter reminisces about his idyllic childhood in Blackpool, they plot an escape; to bunk off work and spend a day in ‘the Vegas of the North’.

Anthony Povah

Based in the North West of England, Anthony describes his passion for writing as a ‘hobby that got out of control’ after he was selected for the New Writing North Significant Ink development programme and reached the finals of the BBC Drama Room scheme in 2017.

Since then, Anthony’s work has been selected by numerous screenwriting contests and film festivals across the globe, reaching the finals of the Nantucket Film Festival - Tony Cox Screenplay Competition and the Fresh Voices Competition in 2020. He was also a semifinalist at the 5th Filmmatic Drama Screenplay Awards, the 2018 ScreenCraft Shorts Competition, and selected for the 2019 HollyShorts Screenwriting Competition.

Anthony writes for TV, radio and film, and co-produced his debut short film in 2019. He is currently script consulting on a film project, and working on a conspiracy thriller.
